Concept Generation
The number of “off the shelf” modules today is staggering, however, each design has its unique requirements. Telesensors works with customers to understand their specific requirements, including constraints such as size, power, cost, etc. Performance critera is also established as part of the concept generation process.
Design Architecture
The second phase is to explore design trade-offs and evaluate the pros and cons of different architectures. There are multiple design paths for solving any given product design. The Telesensors design team works with the customer to develop the lowest overall cost and fastest time to market using off the shelf solutions where possible and integrating them with custom solutions.
Discrete Solutions
Many designs start with discrete prototyping as the first implementation step. This is time and cost effective and has lower design risk than starting with a more integrated approach. Discrete solutions are perfect for showing proof of concept and may work well for low volume applications.
With high volume projects, Telesensors works with the customer to develop a more integrated approach.
ASIC Platform Solutions
Moving to an ASIC platform becomes feasable when size, cost or performance drives the need for a higher level of integration. An ASIC platform is an ASIC with digital and analog resources built into the silicon and are configurable for different applications. ASIC platforms provide a higher level of integration than discrete solutions but at a lower cost than traditional ASIC development. With over 15 years experience, Telesensors has worked with several leading providers of via configurable ASIC platforms.
Custom ASIC Solutions
High volume, lower cost requirements, smaller more highly integrated size, or lower power can drive the need for custom ASIC solutions. Telesensors has in-house expertise to provide custom ASIC solutions for applications that require that level of integration.
